ABOUT EJM

"BNG BLK is where our IMGAGES become our LEGACY."

Erik James Montgomery is a fine art photographer, educator, and cultural
“Art-ivist” whose work explores identity,
social justice, and community storytelling.
A self-taught artist who later studied at Columbia University and the Academy of Art University, he has exhibited at major institutions including the Newark Museum
of Art and the Barnes Foundation.
In 2011, he founded the Erik James Montgomery Foundation to empower emerging photographers and transform underserved communities through public art. Through platforms like BNG BLK, Montgomery continues to use photography
